The Fifth Estate : Power Of Information

The Fifth Estate is a 2013 political thriller film about the website WikiLeaks based on based several books which are Domscheit-Berg's Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange and the World's Most Dangerous Website (2011), as well as WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange's War on Secrecy (2011) by British journalists David Leigh and Luke Harding.

The movie tried to depict the rise of Julian Assange as new form of investigative journalism through various unknown source of Whistleblowers through a website wikileaks.org. It has covered the intention and passion of Julian very well, also his fall & ego conflict with his own people.
Watch this one, if you love political drama.

Shahid - For the law of equality

Shahid is biographical film based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi, who was assassinated in 2010 in Mumbai. Shahid is a young man affected by Mumbai Riots joins millitants in J&K but soon returned. In Mumbai, he is arrested under the TADA, for an alleged conspiracy to assassinate some politicians. During his tenure in jail he decides to become a lawyers and help all those who have been wrongly convicted because of their religion.
Shahid is very bold attempt by director Hansal Mehta and he managed to tell story with truthfulness. Raj Kumar Yadav (Rao) has provided superb performance as Shahid. The movie is bit slow in execution, dark in nature and has unexpected ending, however that's what happens with movies based on true story.
Its a good cinema.

Shudh Desi Romance - Permutation Combination of Love

The movie started off well and on interesting concepts, but couldn't hold the characters and plot in right manner. It was like same dialogs and same situation was repeating 3 times in entire movie. It had it funny moments and Rishi Kapoor was superb, however I found the movie was lame, pale and even the unpredictability of story couldn't interest anymore.
Just so and so movie.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag - Sikh on the run

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is based on real life of one of the ace athlete India has produced - Sardar Milkha Singh. The movie starts with 1960 Olympics in Rome where Milkha was leading runner and loses the race at the end as he was looking backwards. Then the story plays in flashback on his life since childhood. The movie depicts the era our country gone through extreme challenge post partition. It shown the struggle of common man through Milkha Singh from refugee to soldier and than athlete.
It is inspirational and shows how a passion can drive person to new heights.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is known for excellent direction and he has really worked on detailing to put the story in interesting manner. The cinematography, background score and casting is superb. The movie does look stretch and could have manage 20-25 min. cuts, however still it is a great watch.
Last but not the least Farhan Akhtar again excels in his talent.

Despicable Me 2 : Un-Villaining The World

Very few time we get to watch a sequel movie which is better than the first one. Despicable Me 2 is a refreshingly fresh and extremely funny in every part. The Gru has given up villain business living with his three adopted daughters and running a jelly business. He was hired by Anti Villain League for an assignment to capture a villain who stole a dangerous chemical compound. Gru was working with Lucy who is an AVL agent and fall for her.
This movie is adventurous and funny to the core and yes not to miss the minions who are really innovative in every scene. It was a delight to watch it.

The Croods - Stone Age Evolution

The Croods is an animated comedy about a family which is called croods who are left over in stone age living in caves. Grug who is head of family always afraid of changes and trying new things imposes his rule in his family and protect them from wild outside world. His daughter Eep is always curious about outside world and try to find new things beyond the defined rules of his dad Grug. She meets "The Guy" who is smart, inventive and adventurous. The world was about to end and The Guy suggest to move to other side of mountain and follow lights which was not acceptable to Grug. This entire movie is about their fun-filled journey.
This movie is really funny, very cute and amazing characterisation. The most marvellous thing about this movie is art direction and the animated world they created out of stone age. Emma Stone, Nicholas Cage and Ryan Reynolds were superb with their voices.
I loved it and looking forward for it's sequel. Must Watch.

Raanjhana : Priceless Love

Wow, after quite sometime we got to see some great romantic hindi films which makes you smile, laugh, and sorry about the character Kundan played by south superstar Dhanush. Raanjhana is one man movie of Dhanush and he has justified the character so well as if this movie was made by keeping only him in mind.
The story start at picturesque in Banaras where Kundan (played by Dhanush) fell in love with Zoya (played by Sonam Kapoor) and he proposed her after 7 years of chase. The movie is simplistic and all characters are real life characters. The movie has love angle, exploitation in the name of love and friendship along with politics and drama. First half of movie shows the love craziness from childhood to the time they grew up and second half is politics and tragicness. It has mix of everything.
The best part of this movie is it's unpredictability, the way it moves you will see surprises it throws in next scene. Not only Dhanush every character in the movie performed flawlessly. Even Sonam Kapoor looked matured in her acting and not to miss Md. Zeeshan who given amazing performance as Kundan's friend.
The direction was superb with beautiful cinematography covering gullys of Banaras and not to miss the real life dialogs.
This is indeed a great debut of Dhanush in Hindi film, he proved you need talent not a toned muscle to pull of movie. Good to see that we do know how to make good commercial film.

World War Z - [ Action / Horror ] - (4/5)

World War Z : Zombies on the loose

World War Z is an action horror movie about world taken over by Zombies and they are multiplying. Unlike the zombies which we have seen here they are fast and more dangerous. Brad Pitt is an ex UN employee given a task to discover patient zero from whom this virus spread started so that one can develop a vaccine. To discover patient zero he travels from UN safe base near New York to South Korea, Israel and discovers the breakthrough at Cardiff, UK. He encounters zombies and their devastation wherever he travels.

Well personally I do not like movies on ghost, vampires and zombies but this one is really well done and shows a bigger picture. This movie will remind you of I Am Legend as well as Ccontagion.

There is nothing to write about this movie as this movie is all about stunning visuals and special effects which was done meticulously and of course Brad Pitt's performance.

Go for it and go zombie.
